Via Ferrata – Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
Italian for “iron road”, Via Ferrata is a protected climbing route with a steel cable running along the route that is fixed to the rock. Using a Via Ferrata Harness, climbers can secure themselves to the cable, creating a completely safe climbing environment. Step out of your comfort zone and experience first-hand exposure in a safe environment, while soaking in the majestic views of the Rockies. Experienced and friendly guides will assist you on the route, catering to your level of experience whether you are a lead climber or a never-ever in search of an adrenaline fix.
Lake Louise is the perfect location to explore the breathtaking scenery of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. With over a thousand kilometres of trails to explore in Banff National Park, there’s plenty to see and do for our guests of all ages and hiking levels. Take in the beautiful mountain scenery while canoeing or kayaking in sparkling blue waters. This activity is perfect for families! Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Emerald Lake offer boat rentals, while non-motorized boats can be used in many other lakes in Banff National Park, including Johnson Lake, Vermillion Lakes and Bow Lake.
The Lake Louise Sightseeing gondola is one of the best places to see wildlife in their natural environment. The open chair or fully enclosed gondola take you up to 2,088m (6,850ft) to take in the spectacular scenery of Lake Louise. Learn about the wild animals you can find in the Canadian Rockies in the Nature Interpretation Centre or take on a more strenuous hike to the summit of Mt. Whitehorn.
