The Lake Louise Ski Resort, Canada’s favourite mountain playground, is located just 5 minutes from the Inn. With 4200 skiable acres and 139 runs, Lake Louise offers world-class terrain for all abilities, accessed by high-speed quad lifts. Our complimentary shuttle to the Lake Louise ski area runs every half hour starting at 8 a.m., with convenient pickup and drop off right in front of the Inn.

Take a turn at Sunshine Village where spectacular powder bowls, easy riders and hear-stopping bump runs are only thirty-five minutes away.

Mount Norquay, on the outskirts of Banff, offers a memorable ski experience for everyone, from beginners to double black diamond adventurers. All within forty minutes of the Inn. Shuttle service is available from Banff. Ski Big 3 lift tickets are available at the front desk.

For a ski-away day and big mountain adventure, the Kicking Horse Powder Express will transport you from Lake Louise to Kicking Horse Mountain, high above Golden, British Columbia. Kicking Horse Mountain is renowned for its incredible verticals, champagne powder and the raw ruggedness of the mountain.


The Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup is Canada’s only alpine ski racing World Cup, with the world’s best athletes competing. This event is broadcasted to an audience of over 100 million around the world. Typically this event is being held around the last November and first December weekends and the Lake Louise Inn is a proud sponsor of the Winterstart World Cup.

Cross-country skiing in Lake Louise is a very and wonderful way to enjoy the area in winter. Lake Louise offers a variety of groomed Cross-country trails, starting within walking disctance of the Inn. Plan ahead with a Lake Louise area trail map.

Snowshoeing Snowshoeing
Enjoy the popular sport of snowshoeing, while exploring the quiet beauty of Lake Louise. Guided trips are offered by Great Divide Nature Interpretation. Snowshoes can also be rented from Wilson Mountain Sports in the Village of Lake Louise.
